Elections to the WHMD Board of Directors are held in May of even-numbered years. Terms of service are four years, and the district’s bylaws restrict directors to two terms. The board’s five directors are elected on a staggered system, so that three seats will be up for election in 2018, two seats in 2020, three seats in 2022, etc. The board is non-partisan. Any resident of the district who is registered to vote is permitted to run, and the district encourages and welcomes new candidates.Every resident registered to vote in Colorado receives a district ballot in the mail. As with other elections in Colorado, ballots are mailed to the mailing address of every Woodmen Hills voter.
